13 October 2006
Well, it's Friday 13th. So what, Ive never been superstitious. But maybe, just this once, it will be a lucky day. We've had renewed press interest and it just may be the day when it happens again. But please don't let it be The Daily Mail (who have changed their minds about the story three times so far and seem to be a lost cause). Otherwise, we're back at that brick wall - but I'm still optimistic. I know we have one or two really good friends and keen helpers out there, and that is really encouraging. Even Genes Reunited has sent us an encouraging message. The only disappointment I have had is that 2 of 3 online agencies (allegedly the best) have failed to find information that I have recently found myself in the public records that they claim to have totally covered. Additionally, one or two fellow searchers have given me more and better information than some that I have bought from the professionals. The moral of this story is don't give up and don't rely too much on big agencies who are really only after your money (in spite of offers of free searches). OK, off the soap box now!
